Circular, on spreading base, the body with applied mid-band and engraved coat-of-arms within a scroll cartouche, with scroll handles, the stepped domed cover with baluster finial and engraved crest, marked on sides and covers, and with scratch weights--7 7/8in. (20cm.)

Lot Essay

The presence of two maker's marks on Irish silver is unusual but not unknown, suggesting that one of them represents the retailer's mark.

The arms are those of Montgomery impaling those of another.
