Each profusely enamelled and gilt to the sides and top with cartouches enclosing figures or bird and flower scenes, alternating with pierced double-cash designs, reserved on a gilt ground with butterflies and bats scattered on a dense floral meander, all between bands of evenly-spaced gilt bosses
