A FAMILLE ROSE ARMORIAL PART-DINNER SERVICE
circa 1790-95
Each piece enamelled with a central coat-of-arms, crest and motto DISCRIMINE SALUS, within narrow blue enamel bands with gilt decoration at the well and rim, some pieces with entwined berried strap-handles at the rim and fruit-finials to cover, comprising:
Two oval soup-tureens, one cover and one stand, 13 in. (33 cm.) wide
One oval shaped cover, 11 in. (28 cm.) wide
One large shaped vegetable-tureen and cover, 13 in. (33 cm.) wide
Four oval shaped vegetable-tureens and three covers with artichoke finials, 10.7/8 in. (27.6 cm.) wide
Two oval two-handled sauce-tureens, covers and one stand, 7.7/8 in. (20 cm.) wide
Two oval pierced strainers, 13 in. (33 cm.) wide
An oval shaped strainer, 10 in. (27 cm.) wide
Four sauce-boats with scalloped rims and three leaf-shaped stands, the stands 7 in. (19 cm.) wide
