Chteau Haut-Brion--Vintage 1970
Pessac (Graves), 1er cru class. Chteau-bottled
Badly bin-soiled labels. Lot 135 levels base of neck. Lots 136 and 137 levels very top-shoulder. Lot 138 levels: nine very top and three top-shoulder. Lot 139 levels: ten top and two upper-shoulder. Lot 140 levels: two base of neck, five very top, one top, one upper/top, two upper and one mid/upper-shoulder
Tasting note: Gravelly, hot pepper and iodine, tobacco, also coffee and tea! Touch of ripe sweetness leading eventually to a dry, still tannin finish. Medium full-bodied, touch of leaness, lovely silky texture, elegant and complete. M.B.
