Pauillac, 1er cru class. Chteau-bottled
Old hand-blown bottle. New chteau capsule. Bin-soiled label with small tear. Level base of neck. Accompanied with copies of paperwork from the chteau indicating that the bottle was originally re-corked in 1953 and then again in 1983 in Paris
Tasting note from the Overton tasting May 1979: The colour was fabulous: bright, warm, paleish provencal-tile-red; bouquet gentle and fragrant, the initial touch of ivy-leaf decay cleared and it developed a soft, warm wholemeal biscuity charcater; dry, lightish yet still a bit of meatiness. ***** M.B.
