Maker's mark of Hester Bateman, London, 1781 (teapot) and 1780 (stand)
Oval with beaded rim, the straight sides engraved with oval medallions enclosing 'AN' monogram, suspended from ribbon-tied swags alternating with larel swags between bands of X's and flowerheads, with straight spout and wood scroll handle, the hinged cover with beaded rim and berried finial; the stand with ball and claw feet and beaded rim, both marked under the base, lion passant under the teapot cover
