Of Louis XVI style, each with moulded frame, the shield-shaped padded back and rounded seats covered in close-nailed blue cut-velvet damask, the arched toprail and plain seat-rail above cabriole legs headed by flowerheads and terminating in turned feet, redecorated (6)

Lot Essay

These side chairs are derived from the celebrated suite of seat furniture by Georges Jacob, circa 1780, supplied to the Queen's Garde Meuble at Fontainebleau.
