The well-chosen, richly figured mahogany veneers, restrained use of brass inlay and brass-inset columnar uprights with urn-form capitals of this table are all features of the oeuvre of Bernard Molitor (1755-1833), matre in 1788. A commode stamped Molitor with similar fluted column uprights was sold in these Rooms, 11 June 1992, lot 119 (40,000), subsequently exhibited in Bernard Molitor 1755-1833, Luxembourg, 7 October-10 December 1995, cat. 9.
