A MID 19TH CENTURY DIAMOND-SET BROOCH
The central oval openwork tied wheatsheaf set with rose-cut diamonds within a circle of old brilliant-cut diamonds, mounted in silver and yellow gold, with pendant loop and later brooch fitting, 4.3 cm long
Provenance
Given to the present owner by Lady Ursula (1902-1978), daughter of the 2nd Duke of Westminster. A golden or yellow wheatsheaf, or 'garb or' as such a charge is known in heraldry, is derived from the Grosvenor Arms and forms the second and third quarter of the Westminster Coat of Arms.
