An Art Nouveau, Pearl and Enamel Brooch
The sculpted female head with flowing hair and draped neckline to the bluish plique--jour enamel surround and pearl pendant drop, circa 1895, with maker's initials, 4.8 cm long
With engraved monogram JDE for Emmanuel Jules Jo Descomps (b. 1872)
A similar pendant is one of the many Art Nouveau jewels that forms part of the Hull Grundy Gift to the British Museum, and also bears the maker's mark for Lon Gariod.
