The photographer was an American soldier stationed at the K2 U.S. army airforce base near Tageu, Korea between April 1953 - May 1954, he recalls that this particular concert took place during the summer of 1953 and that Monroe's performance lasted approximately two hours. This shot, and those in lots 78-80, were taken by the vendor during this performance. The vendor also recalls that the band who appear in some of the shots accompanied Monroe to all her concerts in Korea.
