A Quaker style costume comprising a full-length long-sleeved dress of silver grey sateen, gathered at the waist and fastening at the front with press studs concealed by covered buttons, with pointed white voile collar and cuffs and matching apron and cap; and two oblong gilt metal shoe-buckles attached to black suede patches -- made for Nancy Price for her performance in the play White Oaks; accompanied by a cutting from an issue of The Sketch, 11th November, 1936 picturing Claudette Colbert wearing a similar costume for the 1937 Paramount production The Maid Of Salem, indicating that Price's costume was directly influenced by Colbert's.
