The breakarch case with pineapple finials, handles to the sides above pireced brass arched sound frets, with fluted Corinthian columns to the recessed front angles, on stepped and moulded base with bracket feet, the dial with silvered rings for chime/silent and Cambridge chimes/chimes on eight bells, silvered chapter ring with plaque below XII signed LEWIS & SON 44 & 45 KING'S ROAD BRIGHTON, with matted centre, the substantial triple chain fusee movement with anchor escapement quarter chiming on eight bells and with hour strike on gong, with pendulum holdfast to the foliate engraved backplate; arch of rear door detached -- 18in. (46cm.) high
