The case with urn to stepped and chamfered top with classical frieze inset to the front, flanked by flambeau urns, with handles above cast sound frets to the sides and caryatids trailing flowers to the front angles, with foliate cast gallery to the base and conforming door frame, on paw feet, the silvered one piece rectangular dial with engraved rings for chime/silent, slow/fast and chime on 8 bells/Westminster above plain chapter ring with foliate scroll spandrels, the substantial triple chain fusee movement with anchor escapement quarter chiming on eight bells and hour striking on a gong, with pendulum holdfast to the backplate -- 25in.
