A William IV gilt-bronze striking mantel clock, second quarter 19th century
The case of pagoda form, with trailing floral swag mounts, oval silk backed interlaced sound frets to the sides within reeded and ribbon-tied slips, conforming rectangular rear door and matching frame to front door, each angle with a feather mount terminating in a scroll, on tapering feet, the arched silvered dial with Roman chapter ring, signed below Hounsom Bognor, the twin chain fusee movement with anchor escapement and strike on bell mounted behind the arched plates -- 20in. (51cm.) high
