A George III mahogany longcase clock, last quarter 18th century
The hood with swan neck pediment flanking brass ball and spire finial, outset part ringed columns with foliate cast capitals, the short wavy arch trunk door with line inlay and flanked by chamfered sides, on line inlaid plinth raised on bracket feet, the 12in. brass dial with mask and foliate spandrels to the silvered chapter ring signed Fletcher Scarborough, with foliate scroll engraved centre also with subsidiary seconds and date rings, with painted rolling moon to the arch, the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement, replaced and built up seatboard; possibly associated -- 89in. (226cm.) high
