Lot Essay

The Tiffany pattern book of 1893 describes the present smoking set as a "Segar & Cigarette Stand...Roman Special". It is also described in the Columbian Expositon literature as "Cigar Stands. 344 SILVER STAND chased and etched." The original production cost was $205.
