Lot Essay

Luc and Veronique Derieuvre spent two years (1978-1979) at the French embassy in Hanoi, as the former was working for the embassy's cultural service. The couple befriended Bui Xuan Phai and during their frequent visits to the artist's residence, acquired works for their private collection.
