Armagnac, Semp--Vintage 1965 Tasting note: Extended wood ageing lends a darker colour to this armagnac. It has a certain sweetness on the nose which can be defined as a concentrated richness. There is a marvelous chocolatey feel to the nose and a very fiery, autumnal scent. One can see that longer ageing in wood has given this '65 an extra element of complexity and depth and "soul". It is rather dry on the palate and hasn't lost any of its smoothness. The spirit quality is more pronounced, with prunes and floral tones in the background. This '65 is of extremely high quality.
