Armagnac, Semp--Vintage 1973 Tasting note: Very fine amber colour with a touch of gold and slight green rim. Looks burned, very warm. This armagnac has a very direct nose with a hint of prunes, a floral element and wood. This is a very well defined armagnac, well balanced on the palate. This is a good example of armagnac's forthright style. It has a certain complexity, yet it is dominated by a sense of smoothness and fruit. This is a marvelous example of a pure armagnac, as compared to some armagnacs which can be dominated with a sense of caramel and other flavours.
