The rectangular dish with spout at one end, the short rim with holes along the upper edge, with stylized food offerings applied in relief comprising meat and bread and four circular depressions for liquid
12.5/8 x 9 x 2 in. (32 x 23 x 5 cm.)

Lot Essay

It has been suggested that the holes around the edge were to take pins in imitation of the pegs which would have held down a tent covering over the offerings for protection against the sun.
