A PTOLEMAIC SOLID GOLD AMULET OF HARPOCRATES
CIRCA 3RD-2ND CENTURY B.C.
The young deity with attributes of Eros, standing naked, wearing an ivy-leaf fillet and the Double Crown of Upper and Lower Egypt, holding a cornucopia in his crooked left arm and with right forefinger to his lips in characteristic pose, wings and quiver on his back, on integral rectangular base with a Horus falcon and dog flanking him, a diminutive turtle between his feet, a suspension loop behind; and a Greek gold earring pendant in the form of a naked Eros with large wings, late 4th Century B.C.
