A PAIR OF ROMAN GOLD AND BERYL PENDANT EARRINGS
CIRCA 3RD-4TH CENTURY A.D.
Each with openwork rosette disc threaded with faceted beryl bead, with rigid sheet gold pendant decorated with repoussé ivy leaves and berries, set with circular cornelian inlay above and threaded with beryl bead below, long ear hook at back; another pair, similar, the ear disc with rope pattern border around a blue central bead, the gold pendant with openwork ivy leaves and central flower, set with a cornelian inlay above and two beryl pendant beads below, all circa 3rd-4th Century A.D., 1½ in. (4 cm.) long max.; and another pair of gold hoop earrings, each with square green glass inlay in box setting, circa 2nd Century A.D., ½ in. (1.5 cm.) long max. (6)
