A CANOSAN VOLUTE KRATER
CIRCA LATE 4TH CENTURY B.C.
Decorated with white slip and painted in red, pink and blue polychrome, one side showing two horsemen in combat, the neck frieze with figure of Nike drawn by a quadriga, the reverse side undecorated, handles moulded in the form of Medusa heads, the foot hollow for libations and with moulded fluting, repaired, some repainting
