These embroidered capes have traditionally been assigned to Turkey. However, a recent exhibition at the Muse du Monde Arabe in Paris in conjunction with the Muse Nationale des Arts d'Afrique et d'Ocanie in 1996 assigns them to Oran, Algeria.
