[London, c. 1891-1892]. 480 pages, 4to, written in ink in a small hand on the rectos of gray leaves, many leaves being the composite of cut leaves pasted together or of cut leaves extended, paginated in pencil at upper right corners in a later hand, bound in dark red morocco gilt, gilt-lettered, dark red morocco gilt inner dentelles, by Sangorski & Sutcliffe, front cover detached. Besant's novel was published in three volumes by Chatto & Windus in London in 1892 (it probably ran serially in Chambers' Journal prior to book publication).
