(8 1/8 x 6 in.), nineteenth-century calf, covers tooled in blind to a panel design, gilt fleurons at corners of central panel enclosing intersecting fillets forming central diamond-shaped lozenge in four compartments, each with a gilt rosette, spine in six compartments, gilt calf lettering-piece in the second, g.e., rubbed, inner hinges split, morocco-backed folding-case, broken, quire g misbound, opening initial penwork extensions obscured in gutter and cropped at head, 4-inch tear to n1 repaired with old stitching, a few minor marginal tears, many headlines shaved or cropped, first and last leaves and p10 soiled and stained, some mostly marginal foxing and soiling, pale dampstaining smudging a few initials.
