CALDECOTT, RANDOLPH. Seven original drawings in pen and brown ink, four signed with initials, each matted, unexamined out of mats, frame size 82 x 109 mm. (3 3/16 x 4 1/4 in.), a few slight marginal creases at corners just visible, occasional slight soiling, bound into small oblong 12mo album, green morocco gilt, upper cover and spine gilt-lettered, turn-ins gilt, g.e., by Sangorski & Sutcliffe, spine faded, fleece-lined cloth folding case (broken). Calligraphic title-leaf, title in red ink, opening initial in red with blue penwork decoration. The drawings, for an unidentified work, show a bewigged man in eighteenth-century officer's dress and a young soldier in a variety of stances, the first drawing with a lady in the background, the fifth through last scenes including a stout older woman.
