A mid 17th century unascribed provincial seal-top spoon,
with a gilt terminal, lap joint and a slightly re-shaped rounded bowl stamped once in the bowl with a stylised flower and on the back of the stem with three maker's marks H.I. and a crown device* unascribed, middle of the 17th century - 17cm long, 1.75oz.
* Jackson's Revised p.525 for the same configuration of marks, (along with I.H. mark) seen on a seal-top spoon, circa 1630. N.B. The marks on this spoon bear also a resembelance to Norwich makers.
