[published 1889]. 4 pages, 4to and oblong 8vo, 60 lines in 4 stanzas, written in pencil on rectos only, browned, discreet repairs at edges, tipped to larger sheets, bound in green morocco gilt, g.e., by Riviere, spine rubbed; Autograph manuscript signed of a testimonial speech "Our Kind of Man," and testimonial poem, "'Ras Wilson," with a few emendations, deletions and revisions, n.p., n.d. [published 1891]. 9 pages, 8vo, written in pencil on rectos only, severely browned, edges worn, fold tears, several losses (affecting text), "'Ras Wilson, I respect you 'cause You're common, like you allus was...," the speech and poem were "Riley's response to the toast: 'Our Kind of Man,' delivered on the occasion of the annual dinner of the Pittsburgh Press Club, January 29, 1891..."
