Pattern Halfpenny, 1788 (early Soho), by J P Droz, struck in copper, en medaille, similar to preceding coin, but hair below truncation re-arranged, three berries in wreath, truncation plain, border uneven, struck without collar, rev. similar, Britannia in clinging drapery, left leg extended forward, no D by shield, date in exergue, extensive die flaws, edge plain (P.939 DH3 [this coin mentioned]; Montagu 760; Murdoch 343), a few light spots on obverse, otherwise good extremely fine, with some original red colour, the only specimen available to commerce, extremely rare
