HOKUSAI: yoko-e surimono (14.1 x 28.5 cm.); a snow scene of a nobleman, shielded from the falling snow by a large umbrella held by an attendant, instructing a boy to pick the green shoots poking through the snow, poems by Nanaume no Sakari, Mozu no Kusagaki and Tsuru no Tomoyobi, signed Gakyojin Hokusai ga--very good impression, good color, a few light stains and very slight rubbing at edges, otherwise good condition
