cover 1860 (27 July) Soldier's envelope (complete with original enclosure, the contents refering to the Maori uprisings, etc.) "From No 59 Pte G Rowson 12th Foot" at "Bell Block New Plymouth" to England, bearing uncancelled 1855 blued paper 1d. (much oxidised) and countersigned by the Commanding Officer, arrival c.d.s. on face and faint despatch c.d.s. on reverse from which the flap has been removed; 1862 envelope (complete with original enclosure, flap detached) ex the same correspondence, from "Victoria Barracks Paddington" New South Wales, bearing 1d. cancelled with Sydney duplex.
