MEIJI PERIOD (LATE 19TH CENTURY), SIGNED O-MIN AND SEALED
Of oval section applied with a fluted roof and stepped lotus top carved with rectangular panels of arhats and lotus blossoms and bands of clouds, opening on each side through a pair of hinged doors to reveal the figure of Samantabhadra in female aspect seated on an elephant on a stepped lotus throne, interiors of the doors carved in sunken relief with various Buddhist plants and stained dark--8 7/8 in. (22.5 cm.) high
