The long rectangular box and cover decorated on the exterior in gold takamaki-e with a dense scene of a crane flying above a nest containing his mate and young in a tall pine tree, another plum tree and a short bamboo adjacent, on the rocks and hilly ground below the tree beside a meandering stream stands a single minogame with long, gold flowing tail and silver body, extensive details of kirigane and gold foil, all on a nashiji ground, the interior also nashiji, silver kiri-form mounts and silk cords- 16 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 3 1/2 in.
