A set of eight Chinese pottery models of equestrian musicians
each saddled horse standing four square on a rectangular base with its head turned slightly to the left, the riders wearing flowing robes and tabbed hats and variously playing pipes, trumpets, flutes and cymbals, red, white and black pigments remaining -- 14in. (35.5cm.) high max, Tang Dynasty, (some restoration and old wear).
