AN INLAID CELADON CUP AND CUP STAND KORYO DYNASTY (12TH CENTURY)
The ten-lobed wine cup with short flared foot and scalloped rim, incised with a central chrysanthemum medallion in the well and with a flower spray on each of the lobes, the exterior inlaid in black and white slip with flower sprays beneath an incised scrolling flower band, all beneath a crackled and bubble-suffused celadon glaze; the associated cup stand decorated with an incised flowerhead and with carved lotus leaves placed on an eight lobed saucer and set on a short flaring foot, each lobe decorated with inlaid black and white slip with flower sprays, the whole covered in a crackled celadon glaze - overall height 4 1/2 ins. (11.4 cm.), cup diam. 3 ins. (7.6 cm.), stand diam. 5 1/4 ins. (13.3 cm.)
