A George III Scottish tea caddy,
of panelled oblong form with a stepped, domed cover and moulded border around the base, engraved on two sides with a different coat of arms*, by Patrick Robertson, Edinburgh 1789 - 12cm high, 20.5oz.
* Engraved on one side with the arms of Thomas Wharton and his wife Lady Sophia Duff, daughter of the Earl of Fife, and on the other with the arms of Duff, probably a brother of the bride. There appear to have been offspring of the Wharton-Duff marriage, listed in a publication "The Book of the Duffs".
