Circa 1865, gilt 5m to one
The matt opaque ground overlayed in brilliant cobalt-blue and acid-etched with a figure of Bacchus in a tiger-drawn chariot, the reverse with Ariadne in a goat-drawn chariot, flanked by scrolling anthemion, the necks with Greek key-pattern, the tapering lower sections with a band of flutes between bands of key-pattern and Vitruvian scrolls
