Lot Essay

The volume includes sketches of a lady and her dog promenading; sketches of heads of men and women; ballet dancers; a delicately colored pencil sketch of a picnic; architectural details; and others. Most of the autograph material on the sheets on which the sketches appear is in the hand of Cruikshank.
