AN ITALIAN MARMO ROSSO ANTICO MODEL OF AN OIL LAMP
mid-19th century, possibly from the workshops of Benedetto Boschetti
The oval domed lid with lion finial lifting off to reveal a reservoir, the spout carved as a winged female herm, raised on an acanthus carved socle, on a stepped rouge and black marble rectangular plinth, lacking the griffin-form handle
