An early issue of this atlas, containing 85 (of 178) engraved double-page maps including title mapsheet showing the physical world in two hemispheres, variously numbered and including 3 world maps (including title sheet), 14 maps of northern Europe, and numerous maps of France, all engraved by Pierre Franois Tardieu; plus 4 inserted early 19th-century maps of France. Most maps with outline coloring, two more fully colored, heavily annotated throughout in margins, some blanks and on a few versos by contemporary owner, prospectus at rear. Folio, early 19th-c. half calf, gilt, worn at joints; repair in margin and gutter to 1 map, a few faint spots to others, minor worming in gutter of prospectus.
