Vase-form, on raised circular foot repouss and chased with floral scrolls, the body repouss and chased all over with rocaille and floral scrolls centering on both sides a rococo cartouche enclosing engraved crests and mottoes, the interior gilt, with floral and acanthus-capped scroll handles, the high-domed cover with gadrooned border and conforming decoration, surmounted by a finial formed as a maiden, engraved under base To Mary Downing Hatch May 15 1894 from her Grandfather & Mother Walter T. & Rebecca T. Hatch, marked under base
