Each of baluster form, the gadrooned circular collar hung with ribbon-tied laurel-leaf swags and issuing mille-raies panelled Greek-key handles wrapped with acanthus, the porcelain body decorated with deer and foliage above a laurel-leaf plinth and breakfront mille-raies panelled spreading block feet, minor variations in chasing

Lot Essay

Closely related Greek-key handles and laurel-leaf swags in the manner of Jean-Charles Delafosse (1734-1789) can be found on a pair of vases in the Metropolitan Museum of Art (F.J.B. Watson, The Wrightsman Collection, New York, 1966, vol. II cat. no. 272 A-B).

A further single vase of identical model was sold anonymously at Drouot, Paris, 2 December 1991, lot 59.
