A LOUIS XV ORMOLU, MEISSEN, ST. ClOUD AND VINCENNES PORCELAIN CENTERPIECE

In the form of a table fountain, with central two-handled covered vase decorated with rocaille cartouche reserves of tropical birds on a white ground and further decorated with insects, the pierced handles above a foliate-cast spout with later foliate stop, flanked by Chinoiserie figures of a fishmonger and his wife, on acanthus-scrolled rusticated platforms issuing flowering trees with Vincennes porcelain flowerheads, on a pierced asymmetric foliate and rocaille-cast base with central oval basin within a C-scroll cartouche, with indistinct inscription to underside, the porcelain marked '180' in black ink, the central vase with Meissen crossed swords mark, one figure stamped '26'
