A PAIR OF EARLY LOUIS XV GILTWOOD CHAISES A LA REINE
Circa 1735, in the manner of Juste-Aurle Meissonier and possibly by Nicolas-Quinibert Foliot En suite with the previous lot, each with cartouche-shaped padded back and serpentine seat upholstered chassis in crimson silk damask, the back with cabochon and acanthus carved cresting, the channelled, hatched frame edged with rocaille and acanthus and with floral trails to the angles, the central asymmetric spray flanked by stylized fluted shells above a serpentine seat-rail with similar rocaille carving and central berried cabochon, on rocaille-headed cabriole legs with scroll feet, the reverse with similar rocaille decoration (2)

Reputedly in an English Private Collection from the eighteenth Century until 1979.
