Circa 1740, stamped twice I. DUBOIS
The serpentine-fronted molded brche d'Alep marble top above a hinged fall inlaid sans traverse with a central cartouche panel of floral marquetry trails within foliate C-scroll encadrements, enclosing a fitted interior with eight serpentine-fronted drawers, one fitted, above a brown leather-lined writing-slide, the pair of cupboard doors below enclosing a plain interior with original green silk lining, the angles with pierced rocaille-cast angle mounts flanked by shaped quarter-veneered sides, the plain chutes trailing to rocaille C-scoll and cabochon sabots

Jacques Dubois, matre in 1742

Identical mounts appear not only in Dubois' documented oeuvre, such as on the secrtaire in the Muse Jacquemart Andr, but also in that of Pierre II Migeon (matre in 1739), as can be seen on the secrtaire sold from the Gubbey Collection in Paris, Drouot, 9 December 1909, lot 82.
