The first of typical form, the handles with green-gold leaves against a yellow-gold punched ground, in shagreen fitted case, marked inside handles and on grips with later French control marks; the second in shagreen case fitted with an oval silver inkwell, cartographer's square, compass and other implements of travel, marked on inkwell, square, compass and one implement, together with a pair of gilt-metal scissors, apparently unmarked
