The first rectangular, the cover painted with a scene of a lady reading letters inscribed Muttall Love and signed mad Tom by candlelight, observed by a gentleman, presumably Mad Tom, the sides painted with courtship scenes within rococo cartouches against a white ground; the second oval, painted with scenes against a blue ground with gold rococo decoration; apparently unmarked
