Lot Essay

Voruz de Vaux was a fashionable furniture dealer in the 1920's and 1930's, based in New York and Wilmington. His clients included the celebrated collector Henry Francis du Pont, to whom he sold a number of 18th century French pieces for his private residence at Winterthur, many of which were sold in these Rooms, 14 October 1994.
